GLODAL

Our History

The Global Digital Applied Linguistics Association (GloDAL) began as a small circle of researchers who met regularly—often over wine and cheese—to discuss digital applied linguistics, English language teaching, and related topics. The idea of creating a formal association to sustain these conversations and foster idea exchange was initiated by Mark Feng Teng and supported by colleagues, Gavin Junjie Wu, in Macao.

Events

GloDAL hosts seminars and conferences featuring digital applied linguists from both local and international contexts. We welcome established scholars and emerging voices alike, provided their topics are engaging and relevant. GloDAL aims for balance: overseas and local speakers, individual presentations and panel discussions.

Community

Beyond inspiring seminars and conferences, GloDAL is a professional community where you can connect with colleagues across institutions and stay current with developments in the field. In addition to research forums and conferences, we publish two journals: Applied Language Sciences and Digital Applied Linguistics.

The best way to learn more about GloDAL is to attend a seminar and conference and join us for dinner afterward—or simply apply for membership today.
